I need to replace the T5’s on my halide fixture and it seems with some fabrication, i can make 60” reef brites fit nicely, are they dimmable? Are they decent for pop?

I've never owned them but everytime I see them I'm like, damn those are intense. I love that they use reflectors, the spread is amazing. Orphek blue plus has great color as well but I dont think they spread as nice.

They do different things. Reefbrites XHOs have a better pop and have a way better spread because of the reflectors but you only get the RB color. The OR3s have a better spectrum because the have UV diodes and different blues. The OR3s are way cheaper for the bigger bars but the XHOs are dimmable. The OR3s are pretty heavy too.

I am running halides so I have plenty of UV. These bars are significantly for pop, I generally grow coral pretty darn fast as evidenced by the first grow out contest results. I think reefbrites it is!

It looks like the Bluetooth controller plus has a 350W power supply ($250) but the regular controller uses the power supplies that came with your lights. Are there any other difference? I’m leaning toward buying the plus’s controller but availability of technical data is surprisingly sparse.

Ended up have it too hard of a time getting documentation on the XHO controller and called reef brite, they were amazingly helpful and I ended up buying 2 actinic 60”strips and an apex interface module for dimming.
