if you don't get any hits for chaeto, I picked some up from corals anonymous last month for really cheap (i think for 10?) As far as I could tell, it was pest free, super healthy, and growing like crazy now.

Which pests? I'd start with a fresh RO/DI water dunk and visual inspection. If you're really strict you could observe it for a few weeks to months to make sure no aiptasia or other algae are present. If you're talking about fish pests too then you'll be obeserving for 2-3 months. I know fresh water dips take care of dinos pretty well. I want to say chaeto is pretty tolerant to hydrogen peroxide dosing/dipping as well. Hopefully someone more experienced with it can chime in for you.
