My tank is 3/4" and MP40 sticks just fine. It's annoying though that lots of pumps won't work at that thickness.
You would have thunk by now that someone would say hey guys let’s add a stronger magnet so that our customers can have price of mind with all of our equipment

Comets are nice. You have hard or rag top?

Hard top. Just waiting to be put back together.

I second the Varios, I run one and it’s great. The controller is concise and functional and I like the safety float switch.

Live Stock List

Harlequin Shrimp- I’ve always loved these little guys and had a park in my last 2 tanks. A little concerned that they may get lost in such a large tank but the beauty and character-especially when hunting- is something I truly like.

3 Yellow tangs

Bristled tooth tang

Sunburst Anthias

Mated/breeding pair of banghai Cardinals

Mated/breeding pair flame wrasse

Yellow coris wrasse

Red Velvet Fairy Wrasse

Mated/breeding pair Yellow Watchman goby & pistol shrimp

Lawnmower blenny

Garden eels

Yellow head Jawfish

Couple of Maxima clams

So I guess I now suck at things like mourning light strips. Really having a hard time figuring how to mount this where it’s clean and hidden. Anyone care to share how the Phillips Hue light strips are mounted.

Also….I hate the new Tapatalk money grab where I need to be a VIP for what we’re once basic services lick uploading multiple pics at once.

Probably need two right? Do they have adhesive on the back? I bought some cheapo HD similar to that for under counter lighting in my kitchen. The adhesive has been holding for about 2 years now. If you want to go more center and not use the adhesive maybe you could use those ziptie anchores. Little squares with a screw hole in the middle. Screw it to the top wood or adhere it to the stand frame and zip tie it in place.

or rip yourself a piece of plywood, stain it and screw some of those epoxy coated rare earth magnets to the back. Magnets to line up with your cross bracing and adhere your led strip to that. It'd be removable that way and if theres a small power supply you could hide it on top of the plywood.

My plan was to run the strip around the most outer inner rim of the stand. Would keep the lights hiders and a clean look. Second pic details the issue.

At 6 points on the stand you can see where the wood skin covers the steel stand and inhibits my straight line. Would have just notched this if the stand was wooden.

Might have to try this.

You can order extension for the strips if you want to avoid additional power supplies. So I’ve done that but still I just don’t like the way the strip and wires show underneath the stand. I want this build to be perfect.

what if you add more to the strip length amd use them indirectly? Going on the inside lip of the steel frame and box out each section. Jumper between the three squares. It would give even light on those doors I think and to both sides of you set up as peninsula someday.
Might be too much length though.

Considering that as well, but as you can see, the jumper placement is not terribly idea. Strip length is not an issue as they have several cut points along the strip to customize length.

No it’s been awhile since my last update (I’ll share why later in post) but I am still chomping away at setting up my tank.

I’ve started on my electronics ‘cabinet’ (the modem and stuff will be moving). Will have 2 of the EB832, 1 EB8, 6 ecotech wave making controllers, skimmer controller, return pump controller, and a few miscellaneous Apex modules.
