anyone use this booster pump? i see 6 ports. Do we have to use all 6 ports? or we could just use the yellow ports to help boost the pressure to 90psi (efficient pressure). looking at the instructions. it say to remove flow restrictors and auto shutoff. seem like this thing will flush your ro membrane and all these fancy stuff if you use all 6 ports.

I have by passed the auto flush ports via valve, as I like to flush mine much longer on startup.
So your using a different flow restrictor as well?

Mine flushes every 6 hours or so.

Shan I’m running the booster buddy off the apex. It works amazingly. In the bottom and top of the 55g barrel there’s a float switches. When the bottom switch gets triggered it lets to apex know to turn on the outlet the booster is on. Then when the top switch gets triggered the apex turns off the booster. Then if the top switch fails there’s a float valve that will create pressure in the lines and trigger the booster off when the pressure switch in the unit gets activated.
At the beginning of the month I added a second 75g per day memb and it’s been running wonderfully. Takes about 4 hours to fill the 55g barrel

If you notice the second outlet it runs to water solenoid when the ro booster gets turned so does the solenoid and allows the system to flush both membrane at the same time.

This is how the 2nd flush valve works.
I started off by creating a virtual outlet, called it flush_valve, then used these codes

So when ro booster turns on it triggers the 1 min defer on the virtual outlet. After 1 min the outlet turns on.
No we go to the second outlet that the solenoid is plugged into. I called it 2flush_valv or, something like that.

When the ro booster turns on so does the 2nd flush. But after the 1 min defer of the flush virtual outlet the outlet tiggers off. So every time the ro system get triggered on the membranes get flushed. 30 seconds for the first memb and 60 seconds for the 2nd memb.

very cool. so your water station is close to the tank. gonna design something like this
Nope sir.

My ro/di unit and ato reservoir is located on the second floor. I ran a pex line and a 70’ aquabus cable I made through the walls and to the tank. The tanks are about 50’ to 60’ from the water station and gravity feed the all 4 tanks and soon I’m adding a 100g saltwater mixing station in the storage shed that is located behind the tank.

I’m just waiting on a pm2 module that I purchased

where you get your parts for the aquabus cable. since fry's no longer exist?
Amazon, son! WTF is fry’s! Are you some type of boomer

It’s easy af. I’ve made 5 aquabus cable. 100’, 60’, 30’, 20’, and a 6 footer. Just need a good soldering iron, heat shrinks, cat9 or 6 cable, and diy type A male usb connections.

Man, I think I will have to make my own aquabus cables. I've been collecting used APEX equipment, and they all came without cables. So I have the DOS, AFS, and others that I need to connect to the main unit.

EMAC, I'm making a shed ATO storage unit just like yours, but less sophisticated. I don't really understand the flushing. I was just planning to use a mechanical float valve on the output of the RO unit. But it looks like I need to flush?

Flushing your RO membrane helps give the membrane longevity. So here’s the concept and how it work. Standard RO has 1 inlet and 2 outlets. The center outlet is RO water and the side outlet is waste. A waste line has some type of restricter on it to pressurize the housing to force the right amount of water through the RO membrane and out the RO production line. Now a flush by passes the restrict or so a flush of water can pass through the membrane and out the waste line. That rush of water is suppose to flush out any built up impurities that have collected on the membrane.

But a flush is not necessary.

Thanks EMAC, I ordered some connectors from Amazon and 100’ of the cat5e cables from HD, total was $20. Im going to try to make some of the aquabus cables myself. I can probably make a bunch of these cables. The retail cost was a bit much.
