Big fan of Abe's videos. I also feel attacked on this one in particular as I'm guilty of "DO ALL THE THINGS TO FIX" approach. 4/7 of the acros I bought from him have STN'd, I assume because of my lack of tank maturity and possibly nutrient/param control. I'm taking a slow/steady approach now and I'm probably ~1-2 months in to the "just take a step back and see what happens" phase he talks about.

One of the dudes I point ppl to. Especially his nutrient philosophy video
Yes, your post awhile back turned me on to him. So many of his points hit the nail on the head. I have had a lot of hard lessons over the last 16 years but this hobby, with it's challenges still delivers great joy .

I Like Greg's (@gcarroll1969 ) live feeds on IG as well , it's great to start the week with some reefing news, hear his perspective, and nice to see him with a flourishing tank again.

I hear you, I have had all kinds of issues. All the plagues, Velvet, Ich, Flukes, Red Bugs, AEFW, Montipora nudies, zoa nudies, as well as different algae battles. The worst besides fish deaths, were when test were way off and I would believe them and try and make corrections too fast and then cause real issues. It was hard to differentiate when you need to act fast to prevent a crash or pest to run rampant or when you just need minor corrections to stay the course. Things have gotten better for me as I'm able to observe the tank more. Back in the day I worked 80 hour weeks and the tank suffered.

Greg is another great resource. Definitely one of the old school still revenant guys. It’s interesting to see some corals I’ve given him change under his parameters and leds
