I’ve found just temping them and then dropping them in has worked the best for me. Most will say slow drip acclimate them but that seems to stress them more imho

I float them for a bit, and will do a drip acclimation.
I’ve never had one die. I’ve always thought the drip acclimation was an over kill, and I have just dropped some in before with luck as well but I still do the drip acclimation when I can just in case.

I don’t think taking them out of the water to transfer them will hurt them, as long as it’s quick- ive never had an issue.

I didn't do any acclimation for my 3 tuxedos (given one away, left with two) and they all doing fine.

Thanks for the confirmation. I drip acclimated mine and even checked the salinity in the bag before I added to the tank. Haven't had luck for some odd reason.

I will try again when my coralline establishes well in the tank first. Kids weren't happy that we couldn't keep the tuxedos alive.

I have had the same luck with urchins. I’ve found that it takes a while to establish a good healthy CUC. Seems like you have to go through a couple before you get some that take be it urchins, emeralds, or even snails.

Everything other CUC seems to be surviving well. I even have trochus snails spawn and cerith snails lay eggs. But tuxedos I have struck up twice. Maybe I will try a new source or different type next time.
