    Backbay’s 450gal SPS & Angels

Alk on Hanna was 8.4dKH and Trident was 8.5dKH so pretty darn good.

    Backbay’s 450gal SPS & Angels

The Trident on the 150gal kept running for hours. I took it apart and discovered that one of the servos was bad. It was an easy swap so finally can keep an eye on the params vs doing it manually every weekend.

    Suggestions for small fish

Haven’t had those in a long time! I used to have a nice Leopard Wrasse many moons ago when I had sand. Will research these. Thx

Another consideration why I don't these bio bricks -- it's hard to control. That is -- I'm not sure if I need 2 or 4 bricks vs granular control like carbon dosing/sulfur denitrification.

Sorry, I don't but it might be too slow? I have a lot of rocks inside the DT already but with 30+ fish and heavy feeding, nitrate is not budging. My other 2 smaller tanks are carbon dosing with much success (NO3 < 15ppm and steady) but I have yet to get this tank down to 10ppm. I think that...

I’m still struggling to knock down nitrate with carbon dosing at 30mL/day. Too much and I got Cyano and nasty film, too little and nitrate would climb. Yea, I’m doing wet skimming to get the gunk out. Will keep at it for another 2 weeks but might get the sulfur denitrator back online since...

    4-channel Doser

I love my Red Sea ReefDose 4 - super easy to set up, easy to use, precise, WiFi capable, etc.. I also love the Neptune DOS (integrated into Apex Fusion) but they are too big! I’ve heard great things about GHL dosers: more high-end and customizable...

Most reefing equipments operate on 2.4Ghz - dumb but lowest common denominator. What I do - create a separate IOT WiFi for all these devices.

    Water volume

    Well, after applying advanced reef fluid dynamics and displacement modeling, the net water volume of a reef aquarium can be approximated as: V_net = ∭(Ω_wet) [1 − (ρ_rock + ρ_sand + ρ_equipment)] dV − ΣV_plumbing + ∫(Q_RODI dt) − ε_hanna + λ_reefkeeper Where...
