I'm guessing you can run both GFO and the pellets as many people seem to do both, but I would think that removing the GFO may help your reactor harbor and incubate the bacteria necessary for natural PO4 removal. If no to little PO4 is present in the tank, how would the bacteria get a start? Just...

So I've been dipping my corals, zoas, etc... as of late. I've been using an old dip medication that was given to me a while back. I looked at the bottle for an expiration date but nothing.. Looks to be iodine based as it has a brown color to it. So does this stuff go bad?

I was at an Asian market yesterday and had a container of masago in my hand. But I read the ingredients and the stuff is processed with salt, sugar, and even soy sauce. This can't be good for the tank????

The former socal tropical carries the atman pumps with the newer needle wheel impellers. At least that is where I got mine a 5- 6 months ago. I Think they are now called sexy corals but give them a call and see if they have the pump you need in stock

Those things look cool. I was watching the some youtube vids about them yesterday. Seems like a nice design and they have made it easy to change out the media with the ingenious tube within a tube concept.

I can't comment on that quite yet as my tank is extremely young and I am just starting to increase the amount of corals in the tank. The only positive I can mention as of now is the fact that my algae growth has slowed quite a bit.
