    PO4

It depends on the current level. If you’re over 0.2ppm and higher, then you can drop a little more without issue, maybe 0.05ppm a day? Less is probably safer and if you have an sps dominant tank, smaller amounts will be better. Each tank will be different on how much it can handle, so giving a...

    PO4

You want to go slow, this gives corals and other things time to adjust to the new levels. Too fast and corals won’t be able to adjust and their uptake stops, which causes problems that stack up, causing a roller coaster and essentially shuts down growth. Nothing good happens fast in this hobby...

    PO4

Whether you use Rowa or GFO, it’s better to use smaller amounts and change it more frequently, than to drop PO4 drastically. Sudden changes in P will do some damage, especially to sensitive sps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Jimbo’s CDA 250

Start with 1//4 or 1/2 doses of both and work your way from there. I dose iron, manganese, cobalt, chromium and iodide daily, but I have lots of corals and macro algae that uses it up. After you’ve been dosing it for a while, it may be worth sending in an icp that it’s not building up. Sent...

Dose phyto and feed the fish for the goni. I don't spot feed corals, as I'm heavy handed with fish food. Goni's like a little iron and manganese, as these two elements are usually depleted quickly in our tanks.

I would just let the diatoms run their course, my thinking with dosing silicates was in the presence of dinos, but I don't think you have to worry about them now. Ceriths do a good job with diatoms, but those baby trochus will also eat some diatoms too. If you add GFO, then you run the risk of...

This sounds crazy, but dosing a little silicates will help, as they fuel diatoms and help out compete dinos. Silicates being one of the nutrients that are overlooked when combating the nasties. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sounds like a good plan. If you want something that does a good job with the sand, tiger tail cucumbers do a really good. I’m sure I’ll have another one split soon enough, trade you some trochus for one? Also, diatoms (brown algae) is much preferred over the other nasty stuff. Sent from my...

A little carbon dosing via TM elimi-np, occasional PNS Probio and a fuge. I feed too much to have low PO4, so as long as it’s below 0.3ppm I’m good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Dosing Kalk + CaRx

I'm dosing at night to help with the pH dip, but I'm not trying to always maintain 8.3 24/7, just mitigate the drop a little. Yes, I want my corals to grow, that's the point, grow them to actual colony size, right? But the overall health of the corals is more important to me than growth. If...

Have you looked for some actual live rock to put in your system? Real live rock can by $50lb and I would still buy it over dry rock. We now know that we don't need that much rock in our systems, just enough to do the job. Hopefully this will be a short ugly stage for you?

    Dosing Kalk + CaRx

Why do you want growth? Are you growing corals to sell? Trying to narrow that pH gap will send you down a rabbit hole and probably cost you one way or another (and not in a good way). I run a CaRx and dose kalk at night, but I honestly don't care about my pH swing too much and according to my...

    Jimbo’s CDA 250

Damn! I would hold off adding trace elements until you have some biomass in there. Iodine can also fuel algae and if there's not enough coral biomass to consume them, algae will be the first in line. Also, if you want to add iodine, then I would dose Seachem Iodide, as it's a safer way of adding...
