Nop I would not. Lol. I have bought all my coral from local reefers, with the exception of one mushroom. “Reef Runners” is a local, not a store. But he wheels and deals from his garage. I enjoy the conversation and the experience more buying local. But I would 1000% pass up a “splitting coral”...

That’s 1/2 the fun! Get some clear acrylic rods, instant ocean hold fast epoxy sticks, a drill and some super glue. Get some blue tape, tape off a spot the same size as your tank and go to town. If not, I hope you get something you like. What looks good to one might not look good to others...
