    Both Arfully and AA recommend polycarbonate over acrylic for this and AA recommended 3/8" over 1/4" for my span of 27". I don't know what thickness Artfully uses.

    When I got a quote from John @ AA, he recommended/quoted going with 3/8" polycarbonate for my tank because of the 27" long span. he said the 1/4" wouldn't work as well.

    hmmm... well yea I could print something that would connect together but I'm not sure how well it would hold up. For my tank it would need to span 27 inches. and I can print about 12 inches long, so that would take 3 pieces. I could probably use nylon screws to connect them and it will be strong...
