if the acropora was healthy and colorful when you added it to your tank...how long did it take for it to turn brown? was it overnight or gradual.. swing for acropora of any kind temp alk etc can make them turn brown overnight in a newer tank....live rock usually takes at least 6 months for me...

what are your phosphates? brown for me usually means high phosphates or too much dissolved organics and or nitrates in the water, how new is your live rock? your sand and or rocks may be also leaching silicates and phosphates into the water... i run 2 radions pros on my 90 gallon 24 inch deep...
