That works perfectly fine. Ran my 30g trashcan reservoir on my 300g system like that for years. Syphons and the basics of hydrodynamics are much more reliable than pump based top off's.

100% success transfer last week. Polyp extension looking better. I always loved my 135 haha.. House not set up; tank is. Standard reefer. Lemon drops happy as can be Stacked from the 240 already

I'll be in Santa Ana today if you want to swing by and see it.

Moved to Fullerton and I wasn't trying to do a one day move and transfer so we just paid double rent for a couple weeks and setup up my 135 for the new house. I'll stand by the $350 price tag till I have to move it again. Here's pictures of the bracing

8'x2'x2' glass 240- $600 Dual corner overflows, can't remember the tank manufacturer from Gardena, has had water in it for less than 6 months. Chunk missing out of center brace but still functions.
