Very weird that it popped up so suddenly after months of normal use. I had a similar but not quite as severe issue with my Tunze skimmer. I emailed Tunze support and they said this is common if there is high cellulose levels in the water due to algae die off or feeding large amounts of algae...

I've recently used the combo of Brightwell Clean + Brightwell Razor to eliminate GHA and/or Bryopsis. Obviously this is not the same as green turf algae...just wanted to provide some anecdotal evidence that using the two products according to the back of the bottles did not kill any of my corals.

I have the dimmable version of the Aquatic Life Hybrid which has all wires coming out the same side making it a lot cleaner. It is of course more money.
