Dave,I use the BRS refill DI too and have never had smelly water.... what kind of container do you use to store your RO/DI water in ? could it be it causing the smell somehow ?

that looks nice.... my sour apple cap seems to be encrusting over my orange cap where they touch but it doesn't seem to be harming either in any way here was just after adding the sour apple cap above the orange cap and about 10 months later as you can tell,the orange is much faster...

I noticed my mandarins doing their mating dance yesterday evening and I hadn't even noticed that they'd paired up yet,we may have babies later....of course,the babies probable wont make it in my tank but its still cool to watch and a good sign that they're healthy and happy :D

I like MH for the shimmer but I'd go with T5 and replace a bulb or 2 to get to color you want,maybe add 3 or 4 bright white LEDs to get the shimmer

I thought they were way over priced before....I just got the MP60 from Detane......after using it a day or 2,I've reconsidered my first thoughts... the MP60 is about $700 new,and that's a lot of money for a small powerhead.... I just installed a CL using a Reeflo Hammerhead pump with 5800ghp...

I had 4 of 'em in my 360g on a naturalwave wave maker,they are great at moving water and mine were quiet except for the restart rattle that they sometimes would do,but they're not designed to be used with a wave maker... the magnets have tiny rubber pads on them,make sure that they've not came...

I would suggest that you move it to a quarantine tank until it heals after you cut it....if it does die,at least it wouldn't wreak your system,but I've read that people do it all the time,I'd be afraid to myself....mine just split on it's own :D
