I really need to get a 3d printer
I got him a Bambu Lab P1S + AMS and he’s been printing non-stop: toys for his cousins, reefing gear, and other stuff around the house.

The PETG (reef-safe) filaments can be expensive but worth it. It’s cheaper than Etsy/eBay and I can get them in a day/two vs 2-4weeks + shipping! lol

Is what would be like a sock holder but to hold a redsea nanomat for my innovative marine 50g lagoon. @bakbay is asking his son if he could do it.

I have a Bambu Lab X2D printer. I have made Vortech mp40 and mp10 cages. I made one that was just like the factory. I prefer one that doesn't look like the original and has 3 prop blades that give the pump more water movement without changeing the input. Also, I made several Vortech controller holders that mounted to the side replaceing the velco setup. Also, several cages for baby corals and muchrooms to grow without being molested by fish snails.
A fun print was a Darth Vader nealing with hands outstretched to hold a pen.

I got a Snapmaker U1. Been sitting in my living room since March, still in its box.

Originally, my mind was set to get the Bambu lab. Luckily, I didn’t buy the previous generation printer as the newer gen Bambu just started coming out. But the H2D with AMS was a bit too pricey, so I was looking at the H2S with AMS. But I saw the Snapmaker U1, and I liked the idea of true multi-exchangeable heads and having less waste when doing color/material changes. U1 is definitely not as pretty as Bambu, but it’ll work. I think I’ll be doing more color swaps with U1 than with Bambu.

My 1st print. A wall mount holder for my mini-split remote. Pretty cool. Need to get more filaments soon.

I guess reef stuff needs PETG. I only have PLA so far. Would love to see what everyone is printing for reefs?

I've printed things like light shrouds for reef light bleed, mushroom/nem boxes, dosing line organizers, miscellaneous controller mount holders.
