Hello all, this thread is to document my frag tank build journey. Tank started on May 31, 2026.

Goal was setting up the tank to transfer over the frogspawn and stony corals from my 40 breeder at my parents house. I don’t have the time to take care of the 40 breeder since my wife and I moved to our own house, so the frogspawn have died back a bit. The 40 breeder will eventually be converted to a softie tank.

Unfortunately don’t have money atm to purchase a proper light but ideally wanted a 48” ai blade or two older Kessil a360we. If anyone would be willing to donate their old Kessil a360we, I would pledge to pay it forward to give out 10 purple green frogspawn frags to the community once they’ve healed a bit (ideally to new hobbyists). But also no big deal if no one donates, I am saving up for lights myself.

In the meantime enjoy the pics below

Close up shots: lots of life and biodiversity. Highly recommend.

Section 2: basket from Daiso so the algae doesn’t fly everywhere. atomic broccoli, dragons breathe, codium

Got some mosquito larvae in my auto top off reservoir , admittedly I didn’t clean the 10 gallon that well but surprised they can still live in RODI water. Anyone got some ideas?
