By the way thanks to Emac909, this guy took the time to share his experience dealing with AEFW

Thanks.

Not going to lie. In the last few months I’ve seen a hand full of tanks with aefw’s. Please don’t ask me to snitch them out. I’m not outing them. I’ve learned better these days to do something like that. It’s the responsibility of the buyer to dip and quarantine anything they think is suspicious.

If they can be removed easily dip them in Bayer once a week. Stay on schedule! If you have the time to dip every 5 days that's better. Also depends on how bad along with the infestation you are (the pic you posted is bad, but I've seen worse). More aggressive dipping could kill the acros. I'd do once a week if it were me.

Depending on how many acros you have to dip, consider using a heater of your dipping and rinsing bins. Remember to use 2 rinsing bins. You don't want any residual bayer to enter the tank.

Use a pump to circulate water in the dipping bin and let the flow blow off the aefw.

If you see eggs scrape them. Or what I would do is remount the frags on new clean plugs cutting off the base.
I'd do the dipping process for 8 weeks. You'll see considerable improvement at the 3 to 4 week mark.

Don't cut the process short, I prefer to do a couple extra weeks even when it's looking good. You don't want any to slip through the cracks or you'll be right back here in a few months when their population builds up.

It sucks, but you can beat it.
Thank you. They are all mostly just frags right now, the only piece I seen those bite marks is a small colony, hopefully I can save it. I will do more thorough inspection of every piece when I get home.

How long do I dip them? And dipping mix is 1-1/2 gal salt water to 40ml bayer right?

Anyone in the IE have any of those frag disc or frag tiles I can buy?

For real man
I learned the lesson DIP and QUARANTINE
Bayer is money, I bought a torch not too long ago and i dip it with Bayer, not issues after , I think corals love Bayer, they are looking even better before

Look for areas of dead tissue too eggs seems to kill off the area the eggs they attached to. If you see multiple cluster of eggs expect that many adult full grown. And how big the egg cluster is helps you decide how big and mature they are. As for dips I have used melafix 2.5 ml per cup of tank water. For anything that is full grown and can’t be removed for dipping you could try taking a powerhead/turkey baster and blow it off hard especially the underside of it. Just know you can’t get the eggs off with the powerhead. They also seem to pop on top at night when lights are out.
Thank you. Melafix? You mean the fish bacterial infection medication?
