*ATTENTION* to Local Fish Stores

Long story short, our shop was broken into on Sunday, 10/28 at around 4 AM in the morning.

At around 3 AM these thieves broke our lock box and came back an hour later stealing a lot of our dry goods.

Just wanted to remind any local shop owners to always be safe and cautious with your shops as this really hurts any type of business.

Question but when you place an order for dry goods, are serial numbers also included in the invoice? Im sure these items would pop up online and if so, that could help catch the thieves?

Hi, we mark it as a loss and just work something out with our dealers instead. We dont recall every single thing that got stolen, but most of this stuff will get sold on craigslist and offer up rather quickly. We have a lot of evidence. I'm sure they will be caught.

We actually have ADT alarm system. Unfortunately, they did not call us when this happened, so you bet we are replacing our alarm system with another company.

Thats what we have always been told! Obviously the bill was paid and everything, so we have no clue why no one was dispatched. Regardless, what can you do. Just wanted to warn other stores.

You might want to contact your Insurance Company. Do you have Business Insurance ? It should be covered.
Write everything that's missing and itemized it. The Ins co with reimburse you Minus your deductible.

What a shame. My guess is also that your contract with ADT removes them from any liability. Yeah I agree. Its nice of you guys to warn others. I hope you get everything worked out.

Dang that sucks! Really hope they catch them. Do you know what they took? Maybe we can help by keeping our eyes open for it and report back?

Nevertheless, Hope it wasn't to bad. I have only been there once but with seeing this i feel obligated to go and at least buy something to help with some of the loss even if i dont need it. We gotta support our LFS especially the good ones!
