Hello everyone.
I can not thank everyone enough for coming last month. We had a great turnout. There were many great things brought up last month and I appreciate all feedback back.
club or group name is on the hot list. I fear of posting these in public as some jackass may try to get the domain names before we get a chance. We also need more help on the social media side. I am also throwing around the idea of once we have a name creating a private group on social media for members only. If we are doing a tank tour, field trip or other things some information would need to be private
Presenting I am pretty busy getting ready for the Reefapoolza event next week so I can not push things too much
I have a few that sent our thier ICP test that were given out. If anyone has specific questions on the results you can reach out to me, post or we can talk about it on the 12. We will be talking about ICP and what you add or do not add in your aquarium and why.
Thanks everyone

I received the results of my ICP test today and am very impressed by the amount of detail that they provide, can be a little overwhelming when first seeing the results. After a little deciphering and with the help of their list and quantities of products to add I should be able to get the chemistry where it needs to be and hopefully it will help to get rid of this GHA that I have been battling. I had a good chat with Richard this morning who is helping steer me as to what products to use, he is a wealth of information.

Here is just a suggestion, but after talking with a few attendees...some are saying it'll be tough for folks that are coming from farther away to make both days back to back. It would be better if this month, we just make the Socali Reefer meet up at Seaside Aquatics in Anaheim. Like at 2pm or something like that. The scratch and dent sale can still start at noon. Dual event! That way, you will have better turnout at this event, while at same time, expose new people to the meet up (maybe they like to be at LFS instead of at a brewery). And we can alternate meet up locations too, sometimes at brewery...while other times at a LFS that wants to host a meeting. Keep it fun and changing, so it'll get more people to show up if they like to meet/chat in person.

If Seaside is cool with it, we can even pool some money to get a keg or pizza. And a dance floor with boombox for moondoggy to get down. LOL

Of course, this is your our event, so this is purely just a suggestion and my feedback. My only goal is to get more people into the hobby and meet other reefers, so more the merrier.

Jimbo sounds like a pretty good idea to me, also this is not a your or my event, it is our event and all suggestions and participation is encouraged and appreciated. It takes a fair amount to put these types of meetups and events together and the more everyone gets involved the better.
Fixed. Haha. Someone will need to make a decision quick tho.

I really like the idea of supporting local fish stores when ever possible as many are struggling. I think we could do a fish store tour and get some of our local stores involved. Shoot we could even do it like a poker run and all gets a card and best hand gets a prize.
I like having a club home but I have no problem going to other locations if demand is there. I drive from Riverside to meet up so I am here for the passion of the hobby and getting to mingle with others as I have to work at aquarium events.
I truly thought breweries were better then I an hop but o am more of a social drinker. If alternative locations are discovers it would be great as we all can consider. I am also more than open to any suggestions.
I hope all that attended the show over the weekend had a great time as it looked like a good event from my side of the wall. We were busy.

I still love the home base at a brewery, it's such a chill and cool place and I think that is where most months we will meet.

Just this meet up and seaside dent/scratch sale is back to back, I think it'll be easier for everyone if we just meet up at the seaside dent/scratch sale for this month. It'll be more of a social. What do you think?

I didn't know Seaside was around the area. What is this dent/scratch event y'all mentioned? Can anyone show up and browse around their shop? I'm not in the market for anything at the moment but would be nice to know where I can go buy equipment when needed and not have to wait for shipping.

Would also be nice to nerd out and talk corals with others.

Not really an open to the public place. This is why we are fortunate enough to be able to use their facility (at least the parking lot) for our Swap/Scratch and Dent. Seaside has generously agreed to make available some slightly less than aesthetically perfect, or overstock type stuff available. In addition to some super specials..
As I mentioned on another thread, bring the gear you arent using/no longer need to sell/swap with others
Aaaand... Hang with fellow reefers and get to know those of us who have been getting together every 2nd Friday at Brewheim...
This ought to be fun.
