Let me know if you find the SS ones.

I think when I had my stand repainted by CDA to white (remember I bought my tank and stand used, it was black stand). The reefer I purchased from lived near CDA, so it was moved to CDA and repainted. They basically just sprayed everything....and did not prep at all. All of the hinges were sprayed too. So their laziness actually offered some protection. LOL.
I found some custom-made ones but believe they’re $100/each? Yikes — ain’t doing that.

Good idea on the sprayed paint! Hey, yours last much longer than mine. My tank is around 2 years old but most of the bottom latches are rusted.

Unfortunately even stainless will eventually rust with saltwater. If you can find titanium hinges that will fit your application. It will be pricey

Agreed - even SS 316 will eventually rust with enough time & oxidation. I'm going to apply Molykote as suggested by @drexel

We need to design and manufacture some titanium hinges o_O
Dude - if you can do it economically enough, I’ll be your first customer. In the meantime, I’ll ask my son to try and 3D print them in PET-G. That would be super useful for reefers!

Exactly - anyway, I think that pet-g will be a lot cheaper than titanium. Also, you can customize it — faster than titanium. I’m a dreamer and suspect someone already did this.

You find that, let me know... Better yet, your son makes them, let me know... I do all kinds of crazy for people who need/want crazy...
In my professional world, price is the least decisive factor... I WANT is the biggest factor ..

You should be able to create gears and plastic screws to fit. Question is - will it hold the weight of the panels? Mine isn’t that heavy (<20lbs?) and is supported by two latches so “should” be doable. It will take some time but might be worth it in the end, I think.

Damn we got some high class princesses on this board. All dolled up and ready to party. Dont mind me, it’s just insane jealously.
lol - this is what happens when you load your son up with a 3D printer, AMS, and hundreds of filament rolls. Outside of finishing school and video games, he got way more time than me to play with stuff…I’m just the guy with ideas & wishes - he got all talent!

This is his workstation in the garage next to our fish room. He got more tools (toys) than me!
