Lucky for me this happen in quarantine tank. She developed some spots of ich, and it seemed to go away with polylab med. Then, when treatment is done. I started to see ich back and over the period of 2 days... this is what I see. I used to think it is brooklynella, but as far as I researched. I don’t think so. She still lightly eating, and being treat with rid-ich plus from kordons. I would appreciate any suggestions at all.

i'd be careful using copper on a boxfish. idk if they handle it well

have u ever done ttm? or even better hybrid ttm? i'm doing it myself right now and it's a bit more work, but seems easier on the fish

looking at your pic again, are you sure it's ich? kinda looks like the skin is sloughing off? that'd be a different disease, but i'm honestly not familiar with boxfish so maybe they just shed their skin or something?

I am not using any copper with her. You’re right, boxfish don’t tolerate copper that well. I am treating with rid-ich plus. Im not even sure it is ich at this time. The skins has clear jelly-like looking bubbles and the white spots had come off a lot over last night.

ttm is tank to tank method. basically you just move fish out of a tank to outrun the cycle of ich

hybrid ttm incorporates hydrogen peroxide baths to also eliminate velvet

but if it's brook or bacterial that won't really help, they require different meds/treatments

Check out freshwater dip threads for immediate temporary relief if velvet. Also to see if flukes are present. I FW dip all my fish but I will say I've never kept a boxfish. If you go that route I have a pretty fail safe procedure I've been using with success.

I have dipped her in freshwater already. However, my researches say that do not dip boxfish into freshwater it's extremely stress for them, which answer the reason why she could never withstand full 3minutes dip ever
