Most of the info on the web is about stony coral, and not so much about soft one. Probably I will ask the coral shop there if it needs any documents for exporting.

Quick google search regarding exporting as it relates to CITES

Export Permit: A CITES export permit must be issued by the Management Authority in the country of origin and must accompany the shipment.
Import Permit: While the US does not require a separate import permit, the shipment must be declared using USFWS Form 3-177.

the easiest way is to hire a transshipper, they know everything just hire them. they will care for the corals for you and travel with the corals with care more than like a baby. i hired one for my dog and he was in good care. now, if you want a complete headache then deal with double customs, asia customs and us customs blah blah blah = good luck!

I don't think it is worth the trouble. Just enjoy your vacay in Bali, or better yet, the neighboring islands (much cleaner). Bali is a little too developed now, I was shocked at how much it has changed (crowded).
