Hi, I have a few small bubble tips anemones. They have been very happy and one just spitted a couple weeks ago. Today, I went to a LFS and saw a beautiful blue long tentacle anemone. I always want to have a blue anemone and bubble tip does not come in blue. So, can I have both long tentacle and bubble tip in my tank? Will they co-exist? I really want to have them together. Any advice on how to deal with them? I am looking for input from someone who have first hand experience with putting both LTA and BTA in their tank at the same time. FYI - I place my BTA on the top half of the tank. I devote the right side of my tank for it. I was wonder if I should set up the left side for the LTA or put both on the right side of the tank. I wonder if they will sting each other, etc. Any advice on how to handle both would be appreciated. I also heard LTA would also emit chemical warfare to wipe out other anemones if they sense other anemones are around. Do you have any first hand experience on this? Your input is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

LTA are harder to take care of than BTAs so be careful. Also that LTA was most likely dyed because they are naturally brown. Anemones don't live wrong that are dyed. They can most likely live forger if the tank is at least 4 feet long and eshtablished.

LTA are huge chemical warfare fighters... if it senses other nems in the tank, even aptaisia, it will wipe them out somehow... it's nuts... so i'd be careful i were you...

Thanks, Gumbii. How come Jose Casas said they can co-exists? Have you tried LTA and BTA on the same tank before yourself or you just read what people said on the net. Before I get my BTA, I read that BTA won't do well in power compact, but mine are flourishing in my power compact lighting. One of them just split a couple weeks ago. It is frustrating, I really like the blue color LTA. It is so beautiful. It would compliment my pink BTA on my tank. But, I am worried about the chemical warfare LTA may have against my BTAs now that you have mentioned it. Thanks for your feedbacks anyhow. Let me know if you have first hand experience with having LTA and BTA in your tank at the same time. Thanks.

that's all a huge understatement... LOL...

um... run carbon, and don't worry about it i guess...

but, i have had a LTA wipe out a couple of high end RBTA... but i didn't want to say that... it was a newb mistake... i will never do it again... that was the only time i have ever lost any kind of E. quadricolor and i blame the stupid cheap rainbow LTA for it...

also... people that say BTA won't live under PC either sell lights (ie. LFS) or are an equipment elitist... the people that just have to have the best high end equipment to satisfy their mental needs instead of making the tank healthy... i have had e. quads under PC with no problem...

but what do i know... i'm not jose casas...

Get a blue carpet anemone I have a large blue one living with 7 bta's
Thanks for your suggestion. I heard carpet anemone is hard to keep and it need metal halide lighting which I don't have and not intend to upgrade. I don't like light that generate lots of heat and wasting energy. Plus, carpet anemone is generally too big for my tank. And I like waving tentacles :_
