Curious to know if anyone has caster wheels on their stand to move around if needed?

am looking to build a 300+ tank on a metal stand.

is this a good idea? Bad idea? Any suggestions on what type of wheels I should get?

Thank you!

Do you really need to move it? I've never seen it but I guess you could do it. But it seems like it will be really hard to move a filled 300 gallon tank, and why would you want to move it in the first place.

Sounds feasible, but the wheels may flatten out after some time due to weight. You would end up with flat spots and won’t be able to roll it around.

They make caster that can lowered so you can move it and then they go up so the stand becomes stationary. It would be interesting if you have the strength to move them up or down.
Maybe make your stand with a 4" off the floor and reinforce the middle and use a pallet jack instead.

For tank that size, I would go (8) adjustable feet for leveling. However, I would not do any wheels for various safety reasons as others have mentioned.

300gal will be awesome - good luck with the build.

I have the same ones Tidal Gardens uses for my aluminum stands. They were really helpful for me because I had two tanks and an external sump I needed to align. But if you just have one tank, it's only really useful for the initial setup and if you ever break down. You'll never use them otherwise.

I used them on my first large tank (200 gallon). The only time I really needed to move the tank was to take it outside when I tented the house, damn thing was heavy. Not sure that it is really necessary otherwise.
