https://a.co/d/07ppMd0R I don't run socks all the time but when I do it's these. After buying the kit with the rings then you can buy a 60 pack of the refills for like $60. Use them once and chuck 'em in the trash.

I got rid of my filter socks and use acrylic cups instead. I buy and use pool filter balls and place them in acrylic cups. They are just like the filter balls IM sells but a heck of a lot cheaper on amazon. Once a week I replace them, and take the dirty filter balls and place them in a laundry bag and in the wash machine they go with a little bleach. Been doing so going on 3 years with zero issues.

You’re still washing them. I’m curious why not just keep the filter socks?

I have been washing filter socks in my washing machine for over 25 years now.

I always use a ton of bleach, wash on hot water, and do an extra rinse cycle. Bleach is helpful as it breaks down organics, but you can just use hot water if you are concerned.

I let the socks dry for 2-3 days and then they are ready to use.

The chlorine content that is left of the socks is very low. It will evaporate in 24-48 hours on it's own.

Like I said, over 25 years, same thing. This is not something you need to be worried about.
