I imagine Steve picked that picture because it was the one closest resembling the original photo. Maybe you can take another picture from the side like the original.

I know that mine (when it was alive) looked VERY different from the top vs the side.

i get you, but inorder to see the overall growth and the changes the coral has made, the final pic must be from top side view dosnt give it justice.

in that case, i think to be fair, the other entrants should be allowed multiple angles as well.

having had a few good months with the frag, i know that the side view has pretty crappy colors (on mine) while the top was a very vibrant blue.

side view for growth, and top view for color?

while Darren's (top down) photo shows great color and PE, I would still have voted for Bryan.

personally, i think Bryan had one of the smallest frags from the competition, his frag not only encrusted, but also got bigger. it has also started tabling from the encrusted area.

Sorry if I did not choose that picture which you thought was the best. I am not biased towards any one or any picture and apologize if I caused any harm.

You submitted 4 pictures for your final post and I always go with the first picture. The first picture also matched the original picture. If you took a top down shot originally I might have went with that. Pictures need to be consistent.

It's hard enough getting people to take a single picture but asking them to take multiple pictures can be tough. Some people do not have the photo skills or lack the tank space to take multiple pictures from different angles.

Side pic from Bryan and side pic from Darren is what we have. colors are always more vibrant from above. Who knows what we would get from Bryan but asking him to take pictures from above was not a requirement. If he can, I'm sure we can do a redo. If not I don't know what to tell you.

I get you,,, it would just be impossible in my case to showcase the growth of this coral from side angle because of the way it grew... and this is not a picture contest but again growth, color, and pe. giving all three of these winning factors...

Hey. No complaints here. It's not a paid job...

I mean, unless you siphoned off the winnings, hahaha :p

I would still vote for #4 he got a way smaller frag and it grew as big as the next contender! The other guy has 3 branches and mostly encrusted.

Bryan for the win.

Anyone want my piece for FREE FREE FREE? Need to make some room after tank transfer.

Can we please do a nice one next time if someone is able to put one together? This thing is not exactly a looker and I have to admit I secretly wanted it to "accidentally drop" a few times.
