Unfortunately You are correct on this, if you search his phone # on craigslist, you can find his other posting. Probably a college drop out, trying to make a living in the hood?

That is mess up, I hate when they use college execuse.Im college student and have two job one to support my reefing addiction and the other for school and everything else, if you cant afford reefing dont get in to it until you can afford it,and posting on craiglist to sell it that shame.for someone that dont know you can flagged his post on craiglist so no one fall victim to him from making profits.

this isn't the first time this has happened on scr , I remember a week ago or so some one talking about some clowns that some one was flipping I never got to see the post , just remember another member on here telling me the story when they came into the shop he was telling me in the picture you can see the price on the bag so I figure they probably bought at a store but I cant remember the price he was trying to sell them
Yea, that person didn't get it for free thou did he? ^, Flip on profit when you pay for it. Don't flip on free stuff, that's just really making things look bad. Yea, I flip on the clown, but like what profit? $20 bucks for 40 miles gas?

Let me clarify that. I bought it for 57 tax included, I drove out around 40 miles for the trip looking for salt. Comes out around 12 bucks on gas, then I sold it for $80, as have to drop off at buyer for another 6 bucks for gas. So 57+12+6 = 75 spend, with a profit $5 on my time. Yep, I'm going to be a frag star millionaire when I'm 80.

I didn't know it was you but since you said something it is not much difference and really including gas in that's not cool that's like me charging more for my dry goods because i drove to pick them up but buying from a store then trying to flip on scr really not a cool thing either , lets say the scr member could of drove to the store and got the same deal , specially if they lived closer . but not much difference in my opinion

I guess your right, on charging gas is not cool. But, I'm a socali cheapo, and a capitalist. I'm not going to lose money on something which I just got, unless I'm in vegas and keep betting on black when the roulette keep hitting red.

Not to get on everyone's bad side since I'm new here... but what's the issue of someone taking something that's given away or selling for a fraction of a given price, taking that and selling it to make money? I'm not sure if I have ever sold anything on here, I know I've used a few services from some awesome members, my last post was free chaeto and a free T5 light fixture for a 55g tank... now if someone was to sell that chaeto for $5 or fix up that light fixture and sell it for half of what's being sold online, why should it bother me if I gave it away because I wanted to, with no string attached. If either finds a seller for what I gave out for free, more power to them and I don't need an excuse or reason as out of the goodness of my heart/or lack thereof, my goal was to give the items away.. period.

I think there should be an official rules & regulations form we can print out from SCR with a list of requirements in order to take something someone is giving out for free and have that person picking up the free items sign and abide by the rules... or simply, give something out and not worry what he/she does with the item...

That's just my 2 cents

By the way, I have met Jaime from a CL add, he's given me some real good deals when he had his old tank - great guy and his dad who I met once seems like a nice person too.

There is really no right or wrong on this. It's just the way people see it, as giving out free stuff making money on it.

You are entitled to your own opinion and I respect that but a lot of reefers (myself included) will give things away that we could easily sell because we want to help others out. Then you have a guy like Aquafresh who takes things others could have used and tries to sell it for profit. That in my opinion is wrong.

Correctly me if I am wrong.. here goes...

I think it's 'cause someone took something of charity that should have gone to a hobbyist that would utilized it and grow more into this hobby; however, it was instead attempted to be made profit out of by the beneficiary.

To me, very shady and reefers here are upset enough about it to blow the whistle. Totally understandable.

at least from my view its not about the money , I wouldn't be mad cause he made more off what I sold him its more about taking advantage of a scr member that's is not cool specially when its 2 or 3 more than retail

Wow, I gotta say I agree with most everyone else on here. Regardless how "nice" of a guy he is, it's not about "why should you care what he does with it after you gave it away" but more about paying it forward, especially if that's how you got it, plus everyone has bills and expenses so that's no excuse. One last thing if he's giving such "great deals" might want to consider who he might have conned into getting any of those free also on his "poor me" play.
