I think it's 'cause someone took something of charity that should have gone to a hobbyist that would utilized it and grow more into this hobby; however, it was instead attempted to be made profit out of by the beneficiary.

To me, very shady and reefers here are upset enough about it to blow the whistle. Totally understandable.

You also forgot to mention that when reefers called him out on it, instead of doing the right thing and giving away the tank for free, he made up some sad excuse about affording school and then tried to cover his tracks by editing the original post and posting the tank for sale on craigslist.

Being the change we see in the Hobby that is what it is about, the hobby is hard enough as it is plus stores not selling responsibly now people are coming up on other ppl in the forum I mean you have to draw the line some where , I don't help people on the forum or the hobby because I want fame and a reputation I do it because its the right thing to do , I did it when I worked for Age I do it now. I do it because there are people out there doing this bs and that's why I do it I have been n the hobby for 27 yrs I have seen and heard horror stories about stores that don't sell responsibly and don't have the customers best interest in mind. you work hard for your money right?! wouldn't it be nice , the place you choose to spend your hard earned money actually cared and wanted your dollar to work just as hard for you as you did to earn it ? you tell me

Wow, I gotta say I agree with most everyone else on here. Regardless how "nice" of a guy he is, it's not about "why should you care what he does with it after you gave it away" but more about paying it forward, especially if that's how you got it, plus everyone has bills and expenses so that's no excuse. One last thing if he's giving such "great deals" might want to consider who he might have conned into getting any of those free also on his "poor me" play.

Totally agree!! It was given, and TAKEN, in the generous spirit of encouraging a member in this hobby. It's sad in my opinion to twist that sentiment for the sake of a dollar. I hear that people say when it's gone it's not yours to say.. But for me it would be a rewarding thing to gift another reefer in need, and would totally piss me off to find out I got played by a stingy flipper. PIF is PIF.. There should be some guidelines we need to follow .if not as forum members then just as simply decent human beings. I mean, original owner could have made $ if they chose to, but instead wanted to gift it to someone IN NEED.. Of the tank! Not the cash from the resale .. Smh sad stuff for real..

Unfortunately You are correct on this, if you search his phone # on craigslist, you can find his other posting. Probably a college drop out, trying to make a living in the hood?

speech less to say i sometimes cant affors the hobby i have three kids and to get stuff for my hobby i work ill even trade work for what ever i get but i would never sell anything i got for free unless i paid for it we all have bills to pay n family to support .the firt time that if he even realised that he ****** up by trying to sell something that was free its ok but trying to sale it of CL its ****** up!!!

you are right this happened to me as well with a store! they gave me a different price when they advertised it for a MUCH LOWER price SMH!

this isn't the first time this has happened on scr , I remember a week ago or so some one talking about some clowns that some one was flipping I never got to see the post , just remember another member on here telling me the story when they came into the shop he was telling me in the picture you can see the price on the bag so I figure they probably bought at a store but I cant remember the price he was trying to sell them

Robert you came in with your Homie and a store sold a guy that was new to the hobby and was looking for the store to for advise 4-5 fish for his 35 g tank that had only been set up for a 2 days and two of the fish were tangs that made me so made , im still pissed off this is the kind of bs im talking about

I mean the poor guy comes into this shop looking for advise to learn and they pull this sh!t how many stores do this it hurts the hobby and affect every good lfs business bs like that means fewer people in the hobby that means a good lfs has to work harder t make their money plus what about the fish ! and our planet one day the fish and coral wont be there . to sell fish and coral and not do it in a responsible that is like saying f-u to mother earth and to your fellow man I have had enough and will do the right thing by all our customers no excuses

look im sorry im not here to be a d!ck specially to Sweet A Collections but he rubbed me the wrong way lying about it to cover it up like no I have a camry and I charged more for gas when in the pic he is driving a mini and the price is on the bag just not cool man and hearing that story yesterday I got mad so I feel bad but right is right be honest its obvious that both parties we are talking about haven't learned from this and it ticked me off
