Emerald crab not so green...

6 months ago, my Emerald crab was a nice green color...
We noticed tonight, that she has changed a LOT... (Besides being a lot bigger...)
Her claws are now red, and her shell and legs are kind of a chalky/Dirty white...

Any ideas???

Not your emerald. Get it out and hand it over to someone with a mantis :D

It will turn green and nice only if you have a good skimmer. Other than that your screwed. fire up the bbq make some cocktail weinies and some of that mini corn. Then you can pretend you are a giant...er... more of a giant, eating a tiny meal. Bahaha

Crap... That explains why my Blue Hornet was gone this morning...
Pulling him and dumping him into the fuge for now...

Confuses me where it came from... Unless Juveniles are green and Petco sold me a juvy Gorilla... (or they painted it LOL)
it's definitely not my emerald, as this one is tearing up the sand digging caves. The emerald would just cruise around the rocks, going into the shadows during the day, but just hanging on the rock.
Haven't added any live rock since I started the tank last September, and dip everything I put in... for about a month we didn't see "Pooty" (My step daughter named the emerald, not me LOL) at all... now this thing is around... I have seen several mutilated dwarf blue hermits, and my snail population has dropped drastically in the last month...
Just tried to chase it out and net it, but it slipped away and dug another burrow under one of my live rock scupltures... GRRR.
Gonna try the plastic bottle trap tonight, or maybe aptasia-X if it comes out before then LOL

Found the emerald... She is still nice and green... Found the head of one of my red firefish this afternoon too...
After lights out, got this bugger trapped and grabbed her with my glove and put her in the fuge... dropped in a silverside and she started tearing it apart as soon as she found it...

Too bad on the blue hornet. I am going to grow out my purples and I might be picking up a red hornet a blue hornet and a couple others, maybe we can make another trade? I still gotta get over there and pick up my leather! It will grow like a weed in my tank!

YAY! I'm glad to hear Pooty is alive and well! Glad you got that crab out before it did anymore destruction! It'll be safe in your fuge! :)
