Guess what this is?

I saw this growing in my rock structure from a tiny spec to this polyp looking thing. I have 100% dead rock, so it can’t be a random hitchhiker coral.

This could be a few things that I have in my tank. I have a couple torches, JF Raunchy red bounce mushroom, ricordeas, OG bounce mushroom, and Goni. Mostly likely it is a JF raunchy red bounce, but that polyp starting to look more like a frogspawn/torch. ‍♂️

What do you think it is? I’ll update this thread as this grows out.

I vote torch as well. My LFS had a torch spawn once, and the whole tank had those little guys.

God I hope so. One of my favorite torches melted last month. I hope it is a baby from that torch.

I suspect that it’s a new strand of Bounce Aiptasias, highly aggressive and pervasive! I suggest to frag that asap and give it to me; otherwise your tank will be infested with these nasty pests. While you’re at it, scrape that ugly looking bubble mushroom on the bottom left - that is not a normal mushroom, looks deformed with bubbles.

Update. I looked around the tank and this is the only baby torch. Hopefully I can keep it alive and grow it out. Pretty cool to have something spawn in my tank, too bad it didn’t spawn all over my tank. It is still tiny.

April update:

Close up, the tentacles look longer.

I’m curious, would the skeleton just grow out of the rock as it gets bigger? Will have to wait and see.

The one that melted completely on me was a HG of some sort. I got it from All Delight when it was 1 head and he kept it in his frag tank because he said it was not too healthy. I managed to keep it alive and it was splitting/doing well for me. I think I got up to 6+ heads...and boom...it started melting and I couldn't save it. It was extremely frustrating because it turned out to be very nice HG. It is the one in front in the photo.

Pretty cool to see it growing and tentacles getting bigger/fuller. About size of a dime fully inflated.
