I've been battling this stuff for about 2 months. Can anyone tell me what this is, and how to get rid of it?
It is very fine. Some of it (but not all of it) will blow off with a turkey baster. I can scrape most of it off with an old toothbrush...but it comes back ~3 days later.

When it first started taking over I brushed ~95% of it off, did a water change, and started dosing Microbacter7 daily. I have been dosing Microbacter once per week since. It's getting pretty frustrating and seems to be killing my gorgonian. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
-Sean

Either hair algae or bryopsis..cant tell from the pic but either way, this stuff is guaranteed to get rid of that.
I dosed Reef Flux last Sunday. No noticeable difference yet. I don't think it's Bryopsis, or at least not a type of Bryopsis I've had before. Also, it's not growing on rocks, just the back wall of my biocube, and on a few corals frags.

Hopefully, fluconazole will do the trick!

Try spot treating it with H202. Between that and the Fluconazole it should give you the upper hand. Change your filter socks often. Test your p04

I also had good success with a combo of reef flux and vibrant on a mix of GHA and bryopsis. I pulled my chaeto prior to using vibrant and kept a close watch on nutrients. Make sure to run the skimmer with the cup off during the intital reef flux treatment to maintain oxygenation. Took me about 7-8 days to see substantial die off and by 10-14 days things looked almost entirely gone.

How's your tempreature? I've seen this thrive in tanks that get too hot or get allot of light. That's from personal experience. I had to cover my windows that were too close to the tank for the spreading to stop.
