find out why they are stressing or malnourished...

well, that's what i tell everyone... but srsly, quarantine and treat with something... you can even do like a copper dip fallowed by a saltwater dip, and then throw them back in... but most likely, if the fish has it, then it's living in the sand or water column...

ya, well I heard every tank has ick. I think the blue got it as the yellow was hassling him as they are trying to figure out the pecking order. I think it is established, however, they still have like 5 or 6 white-ish bumps on them.

Also, I doubt I will be able to get them out of my display with our tearing it apart again! What is the easiest way? Fish Trap?

Use the food cocktail from seachem, metro, focus, and garlic guard. My clown tang got ich and I fed with that for several weeks and it worked great. I also feed the ocean nutrition seaweed with garlic in it. As long as they are eating then you should be fine.

Hey mike I use this product each time and usually only have to dose once a day for 3-4 days. It has worked every time:
Kordon Aquaherbals ich Attack 100% organic and reef safe

Also use Ocean Nutrition Formula 2 marine pellets (has seaweed and garlic) I normally feed throughout the week to prevent lateral line and ich.

Either way, good luck with the fishies:fish:

Do a WC, run a uv, ad a couple cleaner shrimp, and an african cleaner wrasse. voila, no more ick! All also beneficial on top of clearing up ick! Not a fan of chemical treatments..

Depending on the problem this could stress the other fish and make the problem worse. IMO

PS- Yes this is a really old thread lol

This is a super old thread. FYI.
True it's an old thread but seeing what has or has not worked in another's personal experience can be very beneficial, IMO.

ICK is a very common problem, and what I have seen, finding the cause of the original stress is the only guaranteed fix. All the others are great, but most likely only temporary if the original problem remains.

I have not had ick in years, but I found the cleaner shrimp as the most effective and successful way to treat. They have a good history of success in our tanks and are also nice to look at. They are also a good preventive measure, IMO...

Cleaner wrasses have very poor success rates in our tanks so stay away from them.

I feed garlic regularly, not just to fix, and I also believe that has been a huge benefactor in my not having to deal with ICK or stress...

Cool, I know nitrates don't really affect fish, but it seems to me if it is high enough, then it must at least add some stress...
