Mike from Dr. Reef says they sometimes close their tail fans up. Have you seen it try to spread the tail fan at all? He also is giving us a month to monitor the pipefish for a store credit or replacement if it doesn't make it.

I might need to get another white worm kit from you again. It is just hanging in a corner, none of the fish bothers it at all, so that's cool. No fish aggression. That probably think it is a twig floating in the water.I understand they like frozen calanus. I've been dumping Reef Nutrition PacPods into the tank and B2 pellets. Might hatch some baby brine next week. I've noticed mine getting kore active when I add white worms, which includes a lot of baby worms.
Send some good pics of it without the tail if you can. I will forward to them. They don't usually ship again for free unless they really messed up.Yeah, I looked at it for awhile to see if the tail will fan out. There is no tail, so there is nothing to fan. Haha.
Just surprised that Dr. Reefs would send a deformed fish to a customer. I don't think reputable LFS would do that. Perhaps, it is an oversight. But I would probably send out a replacement with a tail without waiting for 30 days. It's not even a matter of DOA.One reason I usually don't buy fish online and just get them local, at least I can see the fish is intact with fin and tail. But with CB, it's mostly have to be shipped.
I'm not exactly sure how to deliver the food to the pipefish without all the other big fishes going nuts over the food. It's like Jaws during feeding time.Have you considered feed smaller frozen fish food, maybe it would take to baby brine or copepods?
That's my mandarin's name! Also came in as small as yours. Now is a pig.I'm not sure when is the next time I'll spot her. It'll be like Finding Waldo.
I got a mix of calanus, oyster eggs, benepets, reef roids and pellets in my autofeeder. It comes on 5 times per day. Plus the tank is full of pods, so I think she'll have plenty of food.
But I got emerald crabs that are bigger than her, so hopefully she know how to get away.
That plate garden is looking awesome!Added a mystery bright plate with yellow tentacles from @lazycouch. (One in middle of photo) It’s small, but really bright. Really cool.

Also, was able to go to the local coral show this weekend. I won a really nice acan (I think it is a Mind Freak Acan) from Coral State of Mind during the OC Coral Show raffle, along with some phyto. So that’s pretty cool!
