Some LEDs are just different, but I love my Atlas. I think it’s one of the best LEDs for acropora and clams. That 14k spectrum does everything I want it to.

out of curiosity, are the photos taken with orange filter on camera by chance?
Orange filter with iPhone for the coral pics (just quanta meso blues on only), the clams are just the iPhone with no filter (quanta atlas and meso blues on).

Im thinking I may want to try one...i want a pgymy angel but am worried about their nibbling nature and the tasty shellfish.
Yeah, centropyge will most likely develop a taste for clams at some point. Crocea is a good choice for nano tanks, but they require a lot of light, roughly 400+ micro moles to start.
The maxima's looking nice! I mean they both are but looks like it's picking up some new speckling on the outer mantle? How much longer left on the fishless condition?
I’ll have to compare some earlier pics, but you’re probably right. Not until Oct 14-15th. I’m now dosing ammonium bicarbonate to keep NO3 up. I’m not sure if it’s the bio filtration building up more or the lack of fish (maybe both) but it dropped from 25ppm to 2.5ppm. PO4 also went from 0.36 to 0.09, so I’m feeding reef roids with goni power twice a week. I might have to bump that up to 3x a week? I did add around 14 pitho crabs to help mitigate the valonia and I might add a few more to help and to add some much needed nitrogen into the system.
My clowns, two fusilier damsels and the tomini are all that’s left. I have a single one spot FF and maybe another zebrasoma that I’ll QT and add right before I put them all back in. I might go with a small desardin to help with the valonia?
Btw, how’s Hawaii treating you? Did you get hit by the big storm?

Soon! Thats not too long. I'm sorry about all the losses though thats a really rough go. Thats some impressive nutrient drops, how's your purple stag doing, is that making up for lost time?
We made it through ok, the most recent one was really all Kauai and Oahu, we got some rain but nothing bad. The one back in mid august was more intense here but luckily where we are it wasn't too bad, no major flooding just power out for a bit.
That's good, being on an island has lots of upsides, but weather can be tricky and hard to escape. Yeah, the nutrient drop shows you just how much I feed and how many fish I have in a small box of water. The purple stag is doing great and I plan of giving @Smite a nice big chunk soon if I can keep it from trying to attach to the rock. But that's a good problem to have. Be well and enjoy island life!
