Hi All,

Anyone know what the market price is for selling this large Magnifica Anemone? I'm debating on selling it, as my clowns love it, but hate it when it expands so much that it stings my corals. Any suggestions on how to seclude from the corals? It split into three last time, having a small piece which I should've kept instead. TIA,.

It’s most likely a bubble tip. It looks way to small to be a ritteri. Also it’s really really rare for magnifica’s to split. Some vendors have had success cutting them. But I’ve yet to hear a hoddies say there ritteri split on its own. A standard rbta sale from $30-$60 depending on coloration. With the pic you provided I’d say the $20-$30 range

Thanks. Here's a pic of when I had all three after the split. It has never shrunk where the tips were bulb like, which is why i didn't think it was an rbta. When it fully expands, the tentacles can reach up to the other side of my corner tank (where the rock of green shrooms are). I wanted to fill the shelf rock up with corals but with the anemone it's not possible. This guy has been in the same location, so he doesn't move around, just extends. Besides changing the aquascape, any suggestions on keeping it along with my corals. Otherwise, i guess my clowns can look for something else to host.

I've had my large mag for over 3 years and the guy who had it before me had it for at least 2. It's never split but it's huge.

I believe your nems to be bubble tips.

I agree with everyone here that these are bubble-tip anemone. My only recommendation as to avoid them being where you don't want them is to do rock-work/aquascape that isolates them and prevents them from travel.

Thanks everyone for the comments. Rather than waiting for it to split, I saw a video where you can slice it in 1/2 or 1/4, similar to slicing a mushroom. Has anyone done this? Once cut, can i put it back in the display tank?

I've heard of people doing that with bulbs. Eventually they split on there own and keep multiplying.
