Checking in, hope things are stable ?
Things are slowing down at least, but still unsure what's going on or if we're on the other side of it yet or not. Female clown still has some white dots, but individually smaller and less dense. Almost just looks like texture between scales. Less head shaking and yawning from her and she's eating aggressively (still) but needs less time to realize food is in the water, seems like she's back to always hungry/begging for food.

Spotted dragonet is less mucous-y, but still has extra mucus production and is still scratching on the sand (~50h after 2nd prazipro dose). Spends more time during the day buried in the sand, but still actively feeding and begs for pellets from the pipette when offered. Respiration maybe slightly higher still but very hard to tell with him.

So no more losses which is good, but still there is no real clue as to anything specific that is going on so having a bit of a hard time knowing what to monitor /treat so just trying to monitor everything all the time. I really hope they pull through.

Mixed update. Bad news first, the last of the last batch of clown fry didn't make it over the weekend. Had plenty of rotifers (possibly too many) but still petered out. With the male gone, that's the last of that. Unfortunately 3 tries wasn't enough to get all the kinks worked out.

So.... anybody need some rotifers?

On a more positive note, the female clown is looking better, dots continuing to get smaller. The dragonet is still a little more mucus-y than normal but the major production has been down for a couple days, and so far this morning he's not been scratching so I hope that's a sign whatever irritant is fading. Still running a bubbler, will probably transition to it only being at night now, and will be doing the 3rd dose of prazi next week.

I really hope the others are on the mend, it's a real bummer about the male though. Hopefully someone will take some of your rotifers, if I had some extra time I would take a few. If I can get some free time later today, I'll text you. Hopefully the prazi does the trick. Best of luck!

Hope everything goes back to normal. If you were in OC, I would have taken some rotifers.

Any updates on this sweet tank?
Disease-wise it's been stable, giving it another month before i treat it as gone since it's only ~35 days since symptoms gone. But the good news is, symptoms fully gone in the fish. No scratching, mucus, etc so I am happy.

The tank is in a rougher shape, not as rough as about a month ago but stil rough. I'll update some photos later. Prazipro was the only thing I medicated to the DT but I think that threw some things out of whack. No losses in coral, but pods are low (but rebounding), unclear if due to prazi/bacteria or extra-hungry dragonet.

Nutrients have also been out of whack, which I attribute to not even attempting to bump or monitor for month and a half (in case it was bacterial issue causing disease). Likely due to this, some microalgae, reddish/brown and kind of dusty and likes to blanket the codium and pumps, has been taking off. Since things have been stable, last week or two I've been monitoring and that. Nutrients landed at ~0.1 PO4 and undetectable NO3, which is about what i'd expect, so working the NO3 back up slowly. I'm not brave enough to add very rich things like phyto yet since the undetermined disease issue is so recent. But the goal is by late January, if everything has been symptom free for 60-70 days, i'll start slowly adding back in phyto and hopefully that will finish off what rebalancing isn't done by then

Speaking of which, you still have your goni collection - need some rotifers? i've been feeding rotifers to my other mixed tank cuz i gotta do something with em and the goni seems to be the only one that enjoys them. but it REALLY enjoys them.
Happy to hear that everything is stabilizing in ur tank. I do have my goni collection and I will gladly take some rotifers but only if you let me donate to the Dan's tank restoration fund lol.

I'm glad it's on the rebound, things like this really mess up a system. If I can get away, I can buy some rotifers from you to donate to the tank recovery fund. ;)

Nah guys free if you want em! also John I got way more Tigger pods than I can deal with if you want some, if i remember right you saying your tigger culture crashed?

But seriously, i think this tank is back in the realm of just needing a gentle and steady hand in recovery. With the move upcoming this summer I just want this tank to get back to a balanced, happy state before it gets shut down in late spring. So there is no restoration fund - nothing to restore or add, i just wish for all the tanks to be in their happy places before they need to be taken down.

Sorry to side track, but I threw some goni frags in the tank. So it sounds.like rotifers are best for growth? Can any of the man-made powder stuff in the market be a suitable option?
Sidetracks welcome! @Tangwich is the guy to ask not me. I don't know that I would say I get great growth out of my gonis, and rotifers are a newish addition (just since clown breeding attempts this fall). But I do get a very fast feeding response from my gonis with rotifers, which I don't get with anything before except for small Tisbe pods (not even all Tisbes, just the 37-150um fraction, which is about rotifer size anyway). I gave up trying powdered foods, but I didn't try that many things.

Since i've been better about adding Mn I've had better success. I just use rotis/pods as treats when i got em. but @Tangwich has some great gonis growing really well so I would love to see what those do with some rotifers

Looking good! I might take you up on the pods and rotifers. I stopped culturing phyto for a little bit, too much going on that I couldn't keep an eye on it. I still about 5L in the frig, so there's stock. I'll text you later this week and hopefully I can stop by when you're free.

Thanks! All local! the red leafy/petal-y one just grew up on rocks, I got some Dictyota and Codium from someone else on the forums, Halimeda from another. And some from @Tangwich - speaking of which when cleaning, I saw some of the Botryocladia I got from you still hanging in there!

I'd offer you some but I still am considering this tank in a observation period from the unknown disease issue last fall.
