so I feed my RBTA a head of the silverside today and it took it...1 minute later it regurgitated the full head back out.....what does this mean? Is it too big for it to digest or is it full?

I feed mine by hand. I try to put the skinnier part of the silverside by the mouth so it makes it easier for the nem to eat it. I have a RBTA about 10" when fully open. I feed it 1-2 inch pieces several times a week.

i had a 10+ inch nem... i would feed it an entire silverside... i wouldn't even aim it, just put it on the tentacles, and it would swallow it hole... their mouths get gigantic... the only time they would regurgitate that i noticed was when i had a clown beating it down... but when they were by themselves, they never did...

The smaller the piece, the faster the nem will eat it. I sometimes just have to keep my hand in the water and scare away the clown until the nem eats the silverside. And the same for my cleaner shrimp since it will steal it if it can.

Any news? May have been because the head is mostly bone... I was feeding mine the center section and it loved it... Gave the head and tail to my Gorilla crab and purple lobster...

get a magic bullet and squid... they've found that nems in the wild consume small organisms like copepods and marine snow stuff... depends on how acclimated certain nems are, some won't take whole silverside.. Plus its a boney fish...

squid it, blend it then selcon and chemvital soak it...

alot of food trials and errors to get that far... i got 14 nems in my frag farm as evidence that it works..
