Doing water testing and wondering what do you guys think it is.

Removed bio pellets a month ago. Thinking if I should put them on line or get a brick for more bacteria.

I’d recommend another test kit for sure. I’ve always got failty tradings with api. It wasn’t consistent. I personally use Red Sea nitrate rest. I heard Salifert nitrate is also good

The most appalling thing is that you are using API test kits LOL

20PPM isn’t the end of the world, in fact I know sucsessfull reefers that shoot for 25PPm... if that’s what your nitrate really is.

In my case, up to 60PPM at one point, NoPox worked wonders in just a few weeks.

I have been using Salifert for many years. Recently my Salifert ran out and I started using a Elos NO3 kit I had sitting around and I was very impressed with it.

How desperate are you to reduce them? I just installed a sulfur denitrator and the thing is a beast at eating nitrates. Mine were above 40. Yes. I said 40 in a system with 180 gallons total water volume. 2 weeks later, at half to 20 and dropping.
