First off I'd like to thank everyone in advance for any advice you can give.

I need your help! I must have messed up or overlooked something when I upgraded to a 40g, but its been 4 months now and I thought I had fixed the nudi problem from the old tank. Every piece was dipped and rinsed beforehand and so were any new ones that I put in. Now almost all my zoas have some visible nudis and egg sacks on them.

The frags and small colonies are easy enough, but my problem is that I like my tank to look natural so I grow directly on my rocks. I can't tear my tank apart, even if i did, I don't think I could fresh water dip sps or lps that are growing on the same rock.

Is there a way to solve my nudi problem IN TANK???? (without killing anything except for the nudis)

THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR HELP

eggs can not bee killed with just dipping. you have to dip every 3 to 4 days till all the eggs are hatched. I have colonies that we though that wore clean but we do quarantine all of the corals that go through our system. it take a few dips to clean them. I have tried fresher water dip and using revive coral dip. we really like revive because it kills flatworms and nudi's do come right off and it seem like it does not harm the coral too much. Some time it take like 2 weeks to get rid of the nudi's. we go through the whole coral looking for eggs sacks. good luck

that one is a hard one. you could keep checking for eggs. the problem is the little ones that you can not see can grow fast. I have tried 6 and 9 line Wrasses with some good luck but I can not prove it.

I have been really lucky that I have not had any pests in my 300 gal tank. That would really suck since I have some rock that are like 20" x 18" across and some pieces that weigh 20 + lbs. at least you have a small tank.

Is expensive and really does not work good unless you use high concentration of it. revive is like 10 to 15 dollars for a 6 oz bottle. it does work good I see it kill all kinds of stuff.

we have had some bad experiences with them but now we have a good process when we get new zoe colonies. if you have paly you can leaf them in your tank the nudi's don't bother them

check out some of the stuff I have

stewartsfragfarm.com my wife really is on top of keeping them pest free and it pays of in the end

Fresh water dipping works for the nudi's but stresses the hell out of the corals. just last weekend I left a zoe rock in revive and forgot about it for about 45 min and now it is looking great.

Good luck..;)

i have been trying that method jorge, but i think the nudis are winning. i pick them off, siphon, scratch, and do everything i can to the ones i can get to, but there are other zoas all over my lr.

i would be very careful with revive. it will kill the nudi's but in the long run it kills the zoas too. they slowly melt away. frank burr brought this subject up when he was speaking at an lecture. when looking at things that were lost or melted on me at the time. it was all used with revive. then again most dips are stressful on corals too.

my canary wrasse totally eradicated my problem with nudis, but also a threat to shrimp as i think it may have taken out my cleaner, not sure, it may have just been age...

but if you have zoo nudis, the risk is worth it in my opinion. What's worth more, $50 a polyp zoos, or a $20 shrimp?
