Ok very newbie mistake here.

And on to the common "WORRIED ABOUT PLAYTOXIN"

So i removed the large playgrandis from a nano some frags had algea on em so i just brushed it off, touch em a few times without gloves (stupid) i know i forgot.

Placed em in a tank rinsed my hands with just tap water no soap and dryed em.

Later maybe an hour i ate some chips not thinking to wash my hands with soap. Could i of ingested it? Maybe transfered the tonix to the food i was eating? Is this an issue, and should i be worried for real? Im new to this and the Google searches really isnt producing and good information for me. I figured theres a really experienced group here that can help guide me in the right direction.

Im sure this maybe be a crazy put there ordeal but idk if im experienceing Anxiety or something else.

Everyone has different reactions. Kind of like bee stings- Some people have no reaction, some minor and some severe reactions. I’ve gotten it in my mouth and in cuts on my hand- worst thing that happened to me was everything I ate/drank etc had a bad taste for about 8 hrs or so.

you should be fine. But if you do start feeling sick like flu symptoms or more specifically difficulty breathing I would go to ER. Make sure to tell them you were exposed to paly toxins. But most people are fine and even with exposure doesn’t warrant a trip to ER.

I have had it and had to go to Urgent Care and get an epi-pen shot and a few other shots and huffed some vapor and then had to be monitored in ER while the drugs wore off.

I had a large population of Palys and did some re-aquascaping caused them to release the toxin. Everyone in the house was affected but I got it bad. Everyone had a metal taste in their mouth, running noses, sneezing, and I also could not expand my lungs and get a full breath (the reason for going to urgent care).

Sold everything and just getting back in the hobby now. I will not be owning any zoas or palys hahaha.

Inside the tank. I believe it became airborne when I kept taking my hands out of the water to see how the rocks looked. I would towel off my hand and then the towel sat there and that cause the others in the house to have running noses and sneezing.

Wow. That’s crazy! I didn’t realize it could go airborne just by being on a towel or out of the water. I heard a news story about a family that all got sick, but the reefer in the house was boiling rocks to kill unwanted palys. The boiling made it go airborne and everyone got sick. Glad you and everyone in your house was ok.
