Read as much as you can about raising these little guys. Unfortunately most of then die because they are terribly hard to get past the vulnerable stage. At least in my experience. They get air in the pouch and cant go back below the surface.
Good luck, thats awesome!!!

The problem with air in their pouch is a problem with one particular pony, at least from what I have read so far. The Erectus I have were born 10mm in length and swim all over the surface and are able to dive down. If or when they have air in the pouch they can't submerge. This is day 2+ and all 15 are out and about as well as the 'father' is really active now that he is without the 'baggage':) . I am now looking to find a hex tank around 40 gallons for a new habitat.

This is also making me want some seahorses! They sound so fun!

Do you have any pictures of the current tank? Why do you want to upgrade?

My current setup is fine for 1 regular sized pony and some dwarfs but I need more room to add a few more regular sized ponies.
I will use the current tank as a quarantine. It is an aquajapan rimless 17 gallon.

I have bought 4 erectus seahorses and like 20 dwarf seahorses from seahorsesavvy and have nothing but good things to say about them! Excellent customer service and very healthy livestock
Any tips for dwarf seahorses ?I’m planning on getting a pair.

The dwafs I got were tiny as in 1/2inch head to tail so make sure any pump has some sort of screen on it or it will get sucked in or at least trapped and banged around. Dwarfs need, as all seahorses, to be feed 3x a day. They eat live and some frozen brine shrimp.

Update on the baby ponies?
Sadly they didn't make it. I talked to Seahorse Savvy about it and got some good info for the future. I needed to seperate them right off, which I didn't do. I know have a new 45 gallon Hex tank with 3 more ponies. One female for my first male and an additional pair. I will update if there are any fries hatched. The new setup along with the, now 2 pairs of ponies, are very active with each other. I'm playing a lot of Barry White also.

Barry White should help. Maybe mix in Sade.

I've bred 7 species of seahorse. Separating them from birth, or even placing the father in the nursery tank to deliver seems to be the best if you can catch it. I am a late riser so this worked the best for me as most species seem to give birth at dawn.

Dropping the temp of the fry tank down to 68F or below helped significantly with bacterial infection.

My nurseries were round plastic buckets/tubs, with a central drain for a sump. They worked very well, even for the pelagic species. I'd move the baby seahorses every 2-3 days and clean out their bucket. Cleanliness is a huge part of the success.

I am not sure if gutloading the BBS is worth it for you. I seem to recall that they do not ingest anything for the fist 24-48 hours, but I might be mistaking on that.

There is a lot of writing on Seahorse.org. If you look up DanU's posts you can read what he did, and also how it developed over time.

Funny side story, when I was first breeding seahorses the Australian government thought it was scientifically impossible to breed seahorses in a closed aquarium. There was a person named David Warland who was actually arrested for having seahorse fry. At the time I was 20 and my kitchen was a full on nursery. Seahorse husbandry has come a long way in the last 20 years.

Keep us posted :D

I took a break in 2012 and never started again. Funny it doesn't feel that long...

I am mostly into SPS and LPS. I keep thinking about getting horses again, but I haven't pulled the trigger on it. I need to redo the floors in my house and put in some tile before adding more tanks and with Covid no real rush to have contractors in our house.
