This month's topic will be "Macroalgae!".

Those with sumps and tanks with macro, let's see some! You can also get creative with it nuisance algae LOL!

The goal is to participate in this great community and practice your skills. Whether you are showing your best fish or simply learning to post pictures, you are all welcome to try.

The winner will get:

Bragging rights and just the satisfaction of sharing a photo with the reefing community. I can ask @EyeReef if he still has any SCR goodies, but looking at our Sponsors list...you might have to settle for a virtual high five...and the coveted POTM badge! :giggle: This local forum is going to be as good as we all make it! (y) Sending out good vibes to everyone who participates!

Here is how it works:
  • Each member can submit ONE photo entry into the POTM contest.
  • The photo must be one that you have taken. No pulling pictures from other forums, websites, etc.
  • Submit your photo right here onto this thread for participation.
  • There must be more than 5 entries in order for it to be a contest.
  • All entries will then be placed into a poll.
  • Photos can be submitted from now until the 21th.
  • Optional: Would be nice to know what you are shooting with or filters used so we all can learn.
After September 21-23th (or around that time based on my schedule), a 7 days poll will go up and everyone on the forum can decide the winner.

It's kind of crazy when you really get into the hobby and find out how many different types of macro there are in the saltwater side.

Sorry to take this somewhat off topic, but does dragons breath adhere to rocks or sand?
In my experience, it can stick to the rocks after you anchor it for a while, but it doesn't create a nice holdfast like Caulerpas or Codium. And it is susceptible to CUC breaking it off or chewing it off at the base and then floating away.

I put some of that stuff in my display tank. Next morning, I wake up, and it's all gone. The tangs got a taste and it was game over.

Don't put dragon's breath in a display with large herbivores! It's salad. I feed it to my foxface. He can take out a handful of dragon's breath in a day.
