Well, I'm starting to get back around to the tank again. Tank looks like crap at them moment.
I sold off most of my coral to fund a surf trip to Nicaragua. The trip was incredible. I found out I cannot get surfed-out, 7 days of pretty good swell and I averaged between 6-8 hours a day in the water. I'd come into eat, ice bath, 1-2 Tonas then back in the water. The palms of my hands and soles of me feet completely peeled from the week spent in the 86F water. It was all I could have hoped for.
Offshore every day
Surf till sunset
Crabs, hermits, Oxen, howler monkeys in the trees, spotted a turtle in the break and a small shark shortly after.
More surfing
Alotta this
Came back to my first litter of boa imperators (boa constrictors). I believe they were born the day before I arrived home. VPI T+ Albinos. then a month later my Kahl litter was born. Now that I've got them all feeding, I plan to turn some of my attention back to my tank.
I do plan to do a restart. For now, I'm going to focus on stability to get everything up to health to be able to survive a transfer. I basically filled an auto feeder for the trip and ignored it for a few months. My Alk was 3.5 dkh at one point. My apex finally died killing my fuge lights and led bars due to it thinking the tank was 100F. Shortly after I lost the ability to connect/control it via fusion. due to that my po4 is sitting at .77. I've brought my alk back up to around 8.5 over the last 2 weeks. Who knows how whats in there is still alive. When I tested my alk, I could not believe this piece was still polyps out and growing at 3-4dkh.
Tank as it sits today
I've now replaced it with a hydros x3 and like it so far.
hopefully ill Have something more interesting to share reef wise over the next couple months. I have a few ideas for the restart.
it’s going to be acropora / gigantea themed with sand.
I plan to go with my original outdoor sump shed plan
I also plan to freshen up the living room during that time and may be changing the skin of the stand as well as going with more of a canopied looks to block light spillage.
