I've had a few planted nano tanks made by Ultum. I love the look and function of the 40 degree mitered edges with clear silicon. It looks clean and there is hardly any silicon at the seam inside to attract algae or catch with a scraper.

This tank will eventually be my downsize from my current 180g. I want something more manageable and easier to maintain and aesthetically cleaner, something that fits in with the rest of the living room.

Tank dimensions are 48x24x15T. Stand is 50x28x38T.

The goal is still sps dominant but some encusting lps and a nem island will be in there for sure. I'm leaning towards a dual closed loop system if I can figure out a way to do it cleanly.

Lighting will be radions, flow will hopefully be either s2 or m2 vectras. Sump will be a bashsea smart sump. Keeping my calcium reactor and plan to make a clean electrical cabinet. If room is left I'm going to plumb in a small frag tank under the hood.

Today I got a few hours and started to assemble the stand. I used rocket engineers design off RC. So far it's nice and solid and I'll have plenty of room to play with below.

I plan to reuse the portion of my scape as the main rock

Nah that 3' was a killer deal and clean. Plus that switch to 10' will be that much sweeter!

I'm just hoping my deltec skimmer isnt too much for this system as far as pump heat goes

New part showed up! Now I can start to figure out my layout for under the tank. I also got the large marine depot external overflow in. Waiting on a 45mm diamond hole saw and I'll be ready to drill this sucka ;)

I'm going back and forth on the CL. The only way it'll look clean is if I drill the bottom pane for one loop. That's stressing me out as far as long term function. I may just stick to 2 mp40s unless someone has any input for me.

Is that Modular Marine Ghost Overflow box ?
That is Marine Depots Elite external overflow. I went with the large model to get the 3 x 1" drains for a bean animal.

I have the modular marine on my 180g, very nice quality. I was going to go with one again but he has a delay posted up and I didn't want to wait.

Got some more time into the stand this week.

I'm also trying to add hidden ventilation. I took my rout and cut 1/4" x 17" slits below and above my side door openings. These are behind the overlap. I took my rabbit bit and cut grooves in the top and bottom of the doors, these also act as finger grooves for opening the doors. I'm hoping to get a natural convection effect going on with hot air rising and pushing out the top ( may add some fans to help) causing cold air to suck in the bottom. We'll see if it makes a difference, if not it doesnt change the appearance of the tank in any way.

Has anyone ordered a clearview or Octo acrylic lid?
I have the Pisces EXO on the 220. Overall its a really nice lid. You give them the exact dimensions you want and they build to it. I think the quoted me 2 months and it took like 4 or 5 to receive it. I would order again though if I had a new tank, but in two pieces instead of one huge one.

I was looking at thier lead time and it says about 7 weeks give or take 10 extra days for a custom dimension. I went ahead and hit up AA and they should have it ready in 1-2 weeks for a little less money. I'll post up a short review once i get it
