you get some sick colors dude
Thanks, that piece was nice when I opened the bag. Under daylight it’s as blue as blue gets, the green base has been a cool surprise though. Once this GHA is in check and my nutrients are back those polyps are gonna be nice.

So I thought I lost a few pieces to GHA (maybe I did) but I was surprised to see an extremely high manganese level when my ICP test came back. I'm not sure if my uptake changed or if I just went too long between tests. I know I was doubling my moonshiners dosage but that had never been a problem in the past. Glad I caught it before I lost more, if that was the cause.

I thought I lost TSA Rainbow Fusion but while shooting blue the suuuuper small encrusted portion has some little pinkish polyps. I'm glad I made the call to cut the whole branch off.

The rest of my coral seem alright. How high you ask? 26.57 ug/l. Recommended level is 0 for shiners but ATI recommends .95 so quite the overdose. I'm going to post on the FB group and see if anyone else had a strange reading. It's possible I got very lucky doing multiple water changes siphoning GHA, but maybe the reading is wrong?

Updated video from this afternoon. My alk hit 6 dkh with salifert. Bought another test and sure enough same reading. I've slowly brought it up to 7, now I'm going to continue on slow to 7.5-8 and see where it looks happy. All looks good so far but these damn sps can hold a grudge for a few weeks. fingers crossed.

Thanks!

Honestly I've been feeling like my tank is a little sterile. I went to John's (minus9) house to get a confetti and a few other frags and that really got me thinking. He had so much life crawling around in that sand and a huge copepod population, micro brittle stars ect. I don't want to give up the BB and very high flow so I decided I'd add a sand bed in the section I moved my skimmer from. I've always wondered about MM and the more I read around the more I wanted to finally try it. So it's really just an experiment to see if I notice any positives or negatives about it. I added 20 lbs like they recommend so there is no wondering on that note and that put my section right at the recommended max depth of 2".

I also managed to sell enough frags recently to cover a few ATI ICP tests and some more moonshiner element refills. I've been dosing dailies and a little blind dosing here and there based off previous ICP results but haven't been following the program like i was on the 180g. It'll be interesting to see if anything's changed after adding the MM. All my traces were always undetectable before even with a calcium reactor, I'm curious if I'm just going to see a Iron reading now or if there is something else to this mud.

The sunsets are by far my favorite anthias I have kept so far. There's some checks from the male here and there but nothing near say bartlett's. The coloration of the male has really come in full force and his tail is much more defined and long than the others. Mine are eating machines at this point, so I'd say go for them if you find a group eating. Tong's has had a group of 5 the last few times I was there.
Have you find out if MM helped anything or was Leng Si smoking something?

I think he just likes the way the mud felt between his toes while he was checking out his the tank.

I pulled it too soon to truly tell. It's right around when my algae issues started and I suspected maybe there was too high of an iron content in my tank from it but not sure. Initially I did get some very nice polyp extension though.

Maybe he was onto something ... I mean discovery not psychodelic. So you just pulled it out and threw in your garden?

OGFrenchHorn does it! I think I like it, pretty cool. This is when light would have normally been pretty much off so the polyp ext was real nice.
Yup I do all white ramp up for an our and all white ramp down for an hour with 6 hours of added blue from the reefbrites and OR3’s

I can see why, specially when its low you can really see polyp extension and all the little night critters trying to get hidden before lights up
