I have a Red Sea 450 bought second hand. Wasn’t like this when I bought it. Not leaking not coming apart. Can someone tell me if this is sand idea. I was thinking of fill a 3cc needle with super glue and injecting it into area it’s from top

When you puncture the needle into the silicone will cause further damage to the silicone.

Super glue will do nothing. Will do more harm than good. Check out Emac’s thread. He has similar issues with a tank he bought.

Your stand is uneven causing stress on the silicone. The longer you leave the tank full on an uneven surface the worse the tank will get. You might be able to save the tank be draining it ASAP and leveling the stand and putting a 1/4” foam padding under the tank. The seam might go back to normal. But if that bubble says like that I won’t trust the seam.

But I definitely would NOT puncture the seam with a syringe and try to inject anything or extract the air.

And I would be really really worried about that panel popping with that seam looking like that

I used 1/4 foam on frame of stand so that’s what tank is sitting on. I will check again but last I checked it was level on all sides

That is a common issue with Red Sea tanks. Yours isn’t the first and it won’t be the last

I’ve never used a steel stand so I have no clue what’s best. It could just be the tank failing. If everything is level and tru. Then the tank just could be failing. Do you know the history of the tank?
Did it ever sit out in heat?

I believe that was the issue with the tank I bought. I think with the age and It had to have sat out in the heat for a long period of time, it caused the silicone to weaken. The silicone was so weak I could pull chunks off.

Wow just one owner he had 2 and broke one down wasn’t down for long. Think I’m gonna have one made exactly like this one but a few inches taller. This is a Red Sea 2 450 which they don’t make anymore. What’s best local place to have tank made that’s done what reasonable?
