What??? I just googled, and it's true. That's terrible.
They had some problems lately. I went there about a couple months ago, and the big back tank was completely drained because of a leak. And I know their tank crashed awhile back. The woman owner was nice and friendly. But I can tell they were not the most cautious or high tech, but more old school mom n pop store, even though they were a big store. Very sad to see this establishment burned.
That's super sad I was just in there just last week. That's the shop that got me into the hobby. I hope they are covered and choose to rebuild. Toan and his wife/family are really good people.
This is really sad news. I started coming here in 1990 around 1 year after I started in the saltwater hobby. This store has been a fixture in the hobby. Toan has helped me with plumbing issues in the past and even let me borrow some tools. Hopefully they can bounce back.
Saw that - I went there to check out their big SPS tank in the back many years ago. So sad to see it burned down. Hope they can rebuild or is it a blessing in disguise? Yes — heard that they’ve been trying to sell & retire for years now…
Man, that really sucks! I remember stopping there for the first time after visiting @Smite and thought it was a cool shop. All I can say is this year has been super tough for a lot of people and I feel for Toan and his family.
Truly sad, I worked there for nearly a decade 2005-2015. It was fun, I learned a lot and met a lot of cool people in the hobby. They were a great family to work for.
my kids still enjoyed going there and feeding all the fish.
That sucks. Some of the livestock there was not always the pinnacle of health but they had good selection of fish and dry goods. Hope they can rebuild better
The unit has been red tagged and the neighbors yellow tagged. A worker at Tongs mentioned maybe it was a faulty pump. That's a sad situation. View attachment 130250
