Time or water changes, assuming you new water is lower in PH. Its usually pretty hard get PH that high in a reef tank. I would make sure your reading is accurate. How are checking your PH? What are you dosing? Your Alk is a bit high which will contribute to hi PH.

You could use white wine vinegar, about 1mL per gallon. I've done it when dosing kalk to raise my alkalinity while keeping my pH from rising too high.

You're probably fine running at pH of 8.5, many reefers would love to have a pH that high.

no need to chase your pH at the level. I have to work to keep mine up that high.

Good call to recalibrate.
I would not lower it. It’s doing no harm.

I would not lower pH. Most likely probe is not reading correctly.
