Little stars are cool until they multiply like crazy. Then they run out of things to eat and start eating things like your zoas. I have an infestation of little stars. Recently purchased 2 harlequin shrimp to try and get them under control.

I have a lot of little ones and once in a while I'll find bigger ones like that. I take those out, cause I've caught a couple of them at the base of my acros.

I have a lot as well and they eat the algae on the glass. I have not seen any ill effects.

Those are nuisence stars. They eat coral and coraline and multiply like crazy. Soon you will have an investation. Cool if you dont have a reef tank but get a harlequin and erradicate them. Thats what I did, and pull them out whenever I get the chance.
